Pemi River Campground was an amazing company to go through for this. They made everything so easy and simple from beginning to end. They are conveniently located right off Exit 29 off 93N and no reservations are required to float down the river. Just show up and they will take care of the rest. Or better yet, camp overnight and have river access all weekend long!

Our Day on the River
Our group had 3 adults and 4 kids, we rented tubes for adults and bigger kids, an inflatable boat for the littles (it was better to have a boat with a bottom for them) and 1 Kayak that the adults took turns paddling. The Kayak was key because it held all of our drinks and snacks, and also we tied together and let it paddle us through the lower current spots.
What You will Need
- Bathing suits only
- Water Shoes
- Plenty of snacks/drinks if bringing kids
- Sunscreen
- Bungee cords to link the tubes together or to the Kayak
What to Expect
- An exciting journey
- Lots of jumping off the floats for swimming along the way in the calm areas
- Rope Swings
- Plenty of fun places to stop with large rocks, beach areas to have snacks and regroup
Our journey with the 4 younger kids took about 4 hours, but with older kids or adults it should not take that long (we took exploration and snack breaks often). At the end of the river you pull onto the beach and the staff is waiting to take your tubes, and you just have a short walk through the campground to you car. Once back at camp the kids said they had the "BEST DAY EVER"! They all played on the camp playground, we changed our clothes and headed back home.
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, we will definitely be back! Next time we plan on making a camping trip out of it!
