Welcome to the spring edition of Take 5 with Chunky’s Cinema, where we find out what the most popular attractions are at Chunky’s this season. We talked to Chunky’s Marketing Director, Michael Manetta, and he gave us some hints as to what movies people will be lining up to see and what snacks moviegoers crave the most. So sit down, grab a bag of popcorn and learn all about what Chunky’s has in store!
Macaroni KID: What’s the most anticipated movie coming this spring?
Michael: The Super Mario Bros. Movie which premieres on April 7th! This is what we consider the perfect theatrical release for Chunky’s. It has mass appeal to a wide range of age groups, from adults now in their 40’s who were kids playing NES in the 1980’s to kids today who are equally in love with the franchise on the latest gaming consoles. Plus, this movie will be a lot of fun to make extra festive for kids and adults as we create themed decorations and menu specials.
Macaroni KID: What’s been the most popular movie so far in 2023?
Michael: Avatar: the Way of the Water has been our most popular so far. It was released in December 2022, but it was a very strong release which carried over into the new year.
Macaroni KID: What’s the top-selling menu item of all time?
Michael: Our “Love Me Tenders” chicken finger basket has been our best selling item all-time at Chunky’s since we very first opened in the early 90’s. It’s a classic fried chicken and fries basket, but we’ve always prioritized offering the highest quality breading and white meat product available. Customers can always expect consistent flavor no matter which Chunky’s location they prefer.
Macaroni KID: What’s the most popular or new menu item right now?
Michael: Love Me Tenders!
Macaroni KID: Any insider tips on how best to enjoy a film at Chunky’s?
Michael: My best tip is one everyone should follow if you want the best Chunky’s experience. Doors to our movies and events open 1 hour before showtime. Even though seats can now be reserved online, do your best to arrive in the hour before the movie starts. This gives you time to settle in, look at the menu, get to know your server and enjoy your app and drinks. Then when the movie starts, your dinner arrives! If you arrive at showtime, this whole process is done in the dark when the movie is starting to lay down important plot points. You miss out on the ideal Chunky’s experience!
